I believe that all children deserve love, attention, and nurturing. I believe that a safe environment allows children to explore and grow. At Treasures And More, the children have many hands-on learning experiences. This fosters age appropriate development. We read to the children everyday. We believe that positive reinforcement is important for children to develop self-esteem. Children need an environment that supports free expression and stimulates learning. Most importantly, however, I believe that children need to have fun! At Treasures And More, we often play outside, read books, do crafts, and play lots of exciting games.
Children learn best from experiencing the world around them.
Based on Honesty, Respect, And Integrity
I have been a Licensed Child Care Provider for over twenty years. It has been very rewarding each and every year. I went into the business to be at home with my children. That was one of the best decisions I have made.
Children always make the day enjoyable and they always have a SPECIAL way to make you laugh each and every day.
My husband and I have been together in this business for over twenty years. He is a big part of the child-care. The children Love Him. We look forward to each day, as there is always something new and fun each and every day.
The children are wonderful.
My name is Gayle, my husband Marv and I have been doing childcare for over 20 years. We love what we do and find it very rewarding. We have dedicated a 500 square foot room for our child care. One of the most special things we do is a photo album given to the families at the end of the year as their Christmas Gift from us. This photo album is plumb full of pictures of their child and of group pictures. It shows what the children have done throughout the year and shows how much their child grows each year. This is truly a keepsake for many years to come. One past child that we still see still looks at her photo album from twenty three years ago. She said she loves to keep those memories with her. She also tells us she remembers the BIG GREEN LAMB we gave her when she was here.
We do have Birthday Parties for the children. We have a Halloween Party where the children come in some cute little costume and the funniest part is that my husband and I also dress up. We have been mechanics, scare-crows, a graduating pair wearing my graduation cap and gown from my high school. We have been Miss Kitty and Matt Dillon from “Gunsmoke” We were Chefs, Doctors and Cowboys too. WOW—WHAT FUN….. We do a small Christmas Party and have the children come in festive/colorful clothing for end of year pictures. At Christmas, the children have their own stockings.
As part of this Child-Care, we do lots of Arts and Crafts with the children. Hand-Print and Foot-prints are always fun to work with and very special to the parents as Keepsakes and Treasures. Stickers are always Great Fun, decoupage too.
My Husband plays piano and string bass with the children. They sing and dance to him playing the instruments and live music. They are so thrilled when they actually get to pick at the strings and hear their music come from that big musical instrument. We had three of them playing the piano with my husband…They absolutely loved that…
We are always trying to teach new songs to sing. We play “The Hokey Pokey” and get down on the floor and build Legos with the children. I don’t really care for battery operated toys, as they do not teach hand-eye coordination and their imagination is never used with these toys. We’re from the times when the children played with Legos, Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs etc. Nothing like imagination doing what it does best…. Our daycare children play with large legos, puzzels, all types of blocks, a nine foot tunnel, a bean bag toss and more!
